Are your kids looking for something fun to do this summer? Are you looking for an affordable and safe camp where your kids can have fun and become better swimmers? Check out the Twinbrook Pool’s new summer camp, Daytime Ducks! The camp starts at only $195 per week for swim team members and $215 for non-swim team members and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
NOTE: All campers must be active members with the Twinbrook pool due to insurance purposes. If you are not a member, we would LOVE to have you join our pool. Please visit our Membership page to learn about options to join. We have a new member special of only $499 which allows your family to enjoy all of the amazing benefits of joining our local community pool.
Make new friends or strengthen current friendships, enjoy fun sports and crafts, and practice swimming consistently. For those on the swim team, you can hop right in for morning practice. Newer swimmers will have swim lessons, all included in your camp tuition! Your child’s swimming skills will drastically improve being in the pool so often and getting direct feedback.
Camp will also include a full day of traditional camp games like capture the flag and relay races. Campers will have the opportunity to play sports like soccer, volleyball, and basketball. There will be crafts available, and many options to enjoy the water on land and in the pool with games, water balloons, water tag, popsicles, slip and slides, and more! Each week will have a theme and include special events:
- June 17-21 (Color Wars)
- June 24-28 (Spy Camp)
- July 1-5 (Pirates and Mermaids)
- July 8-12 (STEAM)
- July 15-19 (Sports)
- July 22-26 (Sharks and Animals)
- July 29-August 3 (Olympics)
If you’re interested in registering for any remaining weeks, email daytimeducks@gmail.com for availability.
Daytime Ducks will have many outdoor options and will also use our renovated Duck Nest (multipurpose room) located in the lower half of the pool house as their indoor space. Calling all Duck parents, let’s make sure we get this place in tip-top shape! Email daytimeducks@gmail.com if you’re interested in helping by donating some time and joining the fun as we work together to create a comfortable and engaging space for our children. A discount on pool membership is available for your volunteer hours; you may receive up to an $80 discount by volunteering for eight hours.
Our camp will be run by our amazing swim team coaches Coach Mathieu and Coach Marine. In addition to coaching swim team and pre-team for eight years, Marine has earned an Early Childhood 90+9 certification (meaning she is already eligible to teach preschool) and has extensive experience with kids including running a french summer camp (ages five through 12), subbing, and is currently working with Baltimore County to finish her certification as an elementary school teacher. Coach Mathieu has worked at many summer camps, has coached both pre-team (Hallowell) and swim team, has taught summer school, and is currently in charge of an aquatic center.
We will always have lifeguards on duty whenever we are in the pool and on the pool deck. Our camp will be accredited by both Maryland and Montgomery County.
Camp is open to Twinbrook Pool members ages 5-18. Older campers may be interested in a Counselor in Training (CIT) role which would receive a significantly discounted registration rate. Learn leadership skills, gain resume building experience, earn SSL hours and give back to your community. There are opportunities for CIT positions at two different levels, ages 13-15 and 16-18. Applications and interviews for CITs are required.
